The Academy Building [Fall River, MA]

Preparation of Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS): drawings, preservation report and development controls for HUD, The Preservation Council, and The Fall River Redevelopment Authority. As planning consultant placed this landmark commercial building built in 1876 on the National Register.


State Street Block [Newburyport, MA]

Historic restoration and renovation of 16 early 19th Century brick row houses into a multi-use building containing shops, arcades, sunken courts, offices and apartments. Buildings coordinated with public plaza and second level walkway developed by City of Newburyport as a part of Historic Central Business District Urban Renewal Plan.

Tapley School Housing [Danvers, MA]

Adaptive Reuse of 1896 elementary school into 40 units of elderly housing under the State 667 Program. Design solution creates a central atrium and a new addition. Preservation Award from the Danvers Historic Society.

Assembly Square [Somerville, MA]

Master plan for the adaptive reuse of a former Ford Motor Company assembly plant into a 300,000 sq.ft. enclosed shopping mall, and preservation of the existing structure and skylights.

Client: East Bay Development Corp. (Developer) | Project Budget: $36 million | Completed 1981


Roads School Housing [Marblehead, MA]

Renovation and adaptive reuse of a historic 1906 elementary school with new addition into 41 units of elderly housing and offices for the Housing Authority.

Client: Marblehead Housing Authority | Project Budget: $1.58 million | Completed 1983


The Salem YMCA [Salem, MA]

Renovation of the Salem YMCA built in 1901. Preparation of feasibility and use study for the Salem Redevelopment Authority and the YMCA. Construction solution consist of 16 units of congregate elderly housing on unused upper floors and a total renovation of lower floors to create a modernized recreational facility. Work completed under 3 phases while building was occupied.

The Beacon Chambers [Beacon Hill, MA]

Adaptive reuse and renovation of a historic 1900 hotel into 135 apartments for the elderly with community spaces, retail spaces and central 8 story atrium with skylight. Building was certified for historic tax credits. Budget included were private funds, MHFA/Section 8 and income generated from commercial spaces.

The Masonic Building [New Bedford, MA]

Renovation and restoration of historic commercial building designed by Peabody & Stearns and built in 1891. Ground floor storefronts with upper floor offices.

Massachusetts Square [corner of Mass. Ave. & Columbus Ave, Dorchester, MA]

Renovation and Historic Preservation of 4 attached 19th Century buildings into office and retail spaces in South End Historical District.

Clients: South End Lower Roxbury Urban Development Corp. (Non-Profit Developer) | Project Budget: $4 million | Completed 1989


The Cambridge Homes [Cambridge, MA]

Rehabilitation of historic rest home built in 1902 to upgrade and bring it upto life-safety standards. Project scope included new fire stairs, new sun room, and interior improvements.

Project Budget: $1.6 million | Completed 1993


Peter Faneuil School [Boston, MA]

Adaptive reuse and historic restoration of 1909 elementary school for 40 SRO units and 8 family units with community spaces in Beacon Hill Historical District. Project was quality for Historic Tax Credits. Approvals by Beacon Hill Architectural Commission, Massachusetts Historic Commission, and National Parks Service.

Adaptive reuse of former classroom building for St. Columbkill Church built in 1910 into 18 units of housing. Restoration and preservation of historic building.

Longfellow School Housing [Roslindale, MA]

Adaptive Reuse of a historic 1915 school building into 45 apartments for the elderly. Restoration and preservation of Victorian school building.

Fenwick School [Boston, MA]

Historic rehab and adaptive reuse of a former Boston public school damaged by fire into 16 units of affordable family housing.

The Walnut Building [Boston, MA]

Moderate rehab of of historic 1832 building into 32 units of affordable housing for the elderly.
